Kaizer Chiefs: How will Amakhosi start with the new players?

Published on by

Kaizer Chiefs have been active in the ongoing Transfer Window, and have so far confirmed the arrival of six new players.

Ethan Chislett, Flavio Silva, Nkanysio Shinga, Thabiso Monyane, Paseka Mako, and Siphesihle Ndlovu are so far the new players who have been signed by the Glamour Boys.

Have a look at how coach Nasreddine Nabi might start the 2025/26 Premier Soccer League campaign.

Goalkeeper: Brandon Petersen

From the look of things, coach Nasreddine Nabi is seemingly not actively looking for a goalkeeper despite the blunders by Petersen, Fiacre Ntwari, and Bruce Bvuma.

Petersen ended the season strongly and it looks like he will be starting the new campaign as the first choice.

Right-Back: Thabiso Monyane

The 25-year-old is one of the talented players, but his career at former club was affected by injuries.

Chiefs are seemingly ready to try him, ahead of Reeve Frosler and Dilan Solomons.

The left-back department is currently the most competitive with the likes of Bradley Cross, Paseka Mako, Happy Mashiane, Bongani Sam and recently Shinga.

However, with his experience, Shinga looks like the main man.

Centre-Back: Inacio Miguel

The Angolan remains Nabi's main man at the back, but if he fails to deliver, Given Msimango can step in.

Centre-Back: Rushwin Dortley

The South Africa settled well at the club after joining from Cape Town Spurs at the beginning of the 2024/25 season.

The left-footed defender is expected to reclaim his position after an unfortunate injury cut his debut short.

Central Midfielder: Thabo Cele

The Bafana Bafana international settled well at the club before an injury affected his momentum.

Otherwise, he can't be benched and will be anchoring the club's midfield next season.

Central Midfielder: Siphesihle Ndlovu

Yusuf Maart has been reportedly agreed a move away from the Glamour Boys, paving the way for Ndlovu.

But whether the deal goes through or not, Ndlovu is seemingly Nabi's preferred man in the number 8 role.

Attacking Midfielder: Ethan Chislett

Gaston Sirino has been inconsitent for Chiefs in this role, while Mduduzi Shabalala is struggling to make right decisions in critical games.

It explains why Nabi might opt to start with Chislett in this creative role.

Right Winger: Wandile Duba

The 21-year-old struggled for consistency owing to injuries, but still ended the season with five goals and three assist across all competitions.

He is lethal when fit, and is definitely odds on to keep his place despite rumoured arrival of Asanele Velebayi.

Left WInger: Glody Lilepo

The Democratic Republic of Congo international joined the Glamour Boys in January, but ended up with six PSL goals and an assist from 15 outings.

Highly rated by coach Nabi.

Forward: Flavio Silva

The striker has been brought to do the work that Ranga Chivaviro, Christian Saile, Ashley du Preez and the likes have failed to do.

Chiefs have reportedly signed Etiosa Ighodaro as well, but he is expected to play second fiddle to Silva alongside Tashreeq Morris.
