Kaizer Chiefs confirmed their 23-man squad for the CAF Confederation Cup fixture against Zambian outfit Red Arrows.
Amakhosi hope to get victory away in the first leg of the second preliminary round which will put them in a prime position to advance to the group stage. A win will also boost the team’s confidence following back-to-back draws in the Premier Soccer League.
The Glamour Boys are already in Zambia but without the midfield trio of Lebohang Maboe, Adolf Mtasingwa and Siphesihle Ndlovu along with attacker Langelihle Phili and goalkeeper Brandon Petersen remain sidelined with injuries they picked up before the recent international break.
Chiefs statement
“Following their midweek domestic league engagement at FNB Stadium where Kaizer Chiefs hosted Stellenbosch FC, Amakhosi will swiftly pivot their attention to continental competition,” Amakhosi said in a statement.
“With minimal rest, the squad is set to face Zambia’s Red Arrows in the CAF Confederation Cup in the first leg of the preliminary second round of the competition.
