Former Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Brian Baloyi feels his ex-team are wasting an opportunity that they may come to regret.
Chiefs are out of two domestic cups following their exit from the Nedbank Cup on Wednesday, having also been knocked out of the Carling Knockout, both by Stellenbosch FC.
Their focus now is on the PSL and CAF Confederation Cup and Baloyi believes they have enough in the squad to challenge for the league title but they do not seem to be ready for it.

The Chiefs legend is saddened that the players, technical team, management and fans have accepted that they are not good enough and will be happy with a podium finish when they should be doing more with what they have.
What could Chiefs live to regret?
“I believe Chiefs have the players,” Baloyi said on SoccerBeat. “They have good enough players to challenge for the league and it is just unfortunate that we are not seeing it the same way as the powers that be or everyone else, including the fans.”
“But at the end of the season, it will go down as the season that we had an opportunity of coming up with a miracle,” he further stated.
Baloyi is also frustrated by the constant changes to the matchday squads which he believes is denying the team momentum and continuity and it could be one of the reasons they are not as consistent.
“We had such a long break, none of our players were at the Nations Cup…long break…right now and at the end of May you only have three months. Is it necessary to rest some of the players?” he posed.

Baloyi slams squad rotation
“For me, I am saying no. You would rather play them until you see now they are tired because you want to try and win everything, every game at your disposal.
“[Zitha] Kwinika was one of the best players over the weekend and you put him on the bench [on Wednesday]!”
Chiefs are third on the PSL table with 30 points from 15 games, two behind second-placed Mamelodi Sundowns, and five adrift of leaders Orlando Pirates.
The Glamour Boys would, however, be top had they not failed to beat the likes Marumo Gallants, AmaZulu, Siwelele FC, Chippa United and TS Galaxy who forced them into draws in the first half of the season.
