Kaizer Chiefs attacker Lilepo lauded as ‘you don’t find a lot of strikers who can do’ what Glody does

Kaizer Chiefs versatile attacker Glody Lilepo has been one of the influential players for the Soweto giants this season.

The Democratic Republic of Congo international has scored seven goals across all competitions and provided two assists. The 28-year-old has been played wide and centrally on several occasions, depending on the tactics and changes during matches.

Flavio Silva come second with seven goals and no assist in all tournaments. As opposed to Lilepo, Silva has been played as the main man in attack since joining the Soweto giants at the beginning of the season.

Why Lilepo has been lauded by Kaizer Chiefs

In his interview with the media, Amakhosi co-coach Cedric Kaze has explained why Lilepo is vital for the Glamour Boys, who are desperately chasing a CAF inter-club spot for the 2026/27 campaign.

“I believe he is a player with a lot of experience; he has been in big clubs, and he is a player who has a lot of qualities. He is fast, he can play as a striker, for example, against Magesi of the last 20 minutes of the previous game [against Durban City],” the Burundian stated.

“He can hold the ball, he can run behind the backline, and he is a player who is calm when he is inside the box. You don’t find a lot of strikers who can do his movements.

“The goal he scored the last time [against Durban City], he took two steps to put himself in a good position far from the defender. That’s why we value him,” he concluded.
