Latest on Kaizer Chiefs-linked star who is a free agent

Versatile attacker Kobamelo Kodisang, who had been heavily linked with Kaizer Chiefs, is now a free agent after parting ways with Mamelodi Sundowns.

The 27-year-old joined Masandawana in July 2024 with all associated with the club hoping he will achieve. However, things didn’t go as expected, as the former Moreiense player struggling to deliver.

During his time with the Brazilians, Kodisang played 13 games across all competitions in the 2024/25 campaign. At the beginning of last campaign, he was sent on loan to AVS Futebol SAD in Portugal but ended up staying there for just hal a season before Stellenbosch took him for the remainder of the campaign.

Interestingly, reports have it that Sundowns had refused to let the player join the Glamour Boys.

A new start for Kodisang!

After his return to the club, Kodisang wasn’t guaranteed a place in the Miguel Cardoso’s team. An agreement was reached and the parties involved parted ways mutually.

Hia agent Mike Makaab has now shared the latest on his client, insisting he can continue with his career elsewhere.

“Yes, Kobamelo Kodisang is free to join any club of his choice. He has left Sundowns amicably,” he told FARPost.

“With the next move, we will wait a bit until the dust settles to make a decision because he got his clearance before the transfer window closed. So he can join a new club anytime.”

It is interesting to see whether the Glamour Boys would revive their interest on the player who can, not only add depth to the team, but provide experience as well.
