Former Chiefs target confirmed abroad

Stellenbosch FC have confirmed that winger Devin Titus, whom Kaizer Chiefs wanted some time back, has completed a move to Moroccan champions Maghreb Association Sportive de Fès.

The Moroccan triggered Titus’ buy-out clause before he was officially unveiled on Sunday evening.

“Reigning Moroccan Botola Pro champions Maghreb Association Sportive de Fès have completed the signing of Devin Titus on a permanent transfer after triggering the buy-out clause in his contract,” the club’s statement read.

“The 25-year-old forward departs as Stellenbosch FC’s most-capped outfield player of all time after featuring in 176 matches, and as the Club’s second-highest goalscorer with 36 career goals to his name across all competitions.”

Titus will now reunite with striker Tshegofatso Mabaso, who spent last season on loan at Stellenbosch FC before making his way to Morocco.

Miguel lauds new signing: He is the kind of player I like

Kaizer Chiefs defender Inácio Miguel has delivered a glowing assessment of new teammate Thabo Moloisane, expressing his delight with the club’s decision to bring the former Stellenbosch FC star to Naturena.

He played an integral role in helping Stellies lift the 2023 Carling Knockout Cup, secure consecutive runner-up finishes in the MTN8 Cup, and earn back-to-back qualifications for the CAF Confederation Cup. His consistent displays also earned him call-ups to the Bafana Bafana squad.

Despite his pedigree, Moloisane has had to bide his time, starting on the bench in Chiefs’ opening three official matches of the new campaign.

However, Moloisane finally made his debut for the Soweto giants on Saturday in a 1-1 Betway Premiership draw against Mamelodi Sundowns at the FNB Stadium.

Moloisane played the full 90 minutes on his debut for Chiefs, recording three clearances, two recoveries, and completing 11 out of 12 accurate passes.

“Regarding Thabo, you can see that he’s a player who’s very committed to the team. That’s the kind of player I like. I’m happy with the signing of Thabo. He’s someone who will give us something during this season,” said Miguel.

“I can see in him that he’s a player capable of helping us. Not only him; all the players have to step up, like Langelihle Phili [against Sekhukhune United]. He just played his first game as a starter.”
