Here’s a live round-up of the latest Kaizer Chiefs stories from the last 24 hours, with updates on their CAF ambitions, squad decisions, and the wider PSL landscape.

Kaizer Chiefs’ CAF hopes labelled unrealistic

Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Thembinkosi Biyela has cast doubt on the club’s chances of qualifying for CAF inter-club competitions.

Despite Kaizer Motaung Jr. setting a target of finishing second, Biyela believes Amakhosi’s current position — fifth with 33 points — makes that ambition unlikely, insisting a top-eight finish is a more realistic goal.

Biyela questions tactics and Sirino role

Biyela also raised concerns about the team’s playing style and selection decisions, suggesting the co-coaches lack clarity in their approach.

He questioned why Gaston Sirino is frequently benched despite being one of the club’s high earners, insisting the attacker should be starting regularly. He added that Chiefs appear to be grinding out results rather than playing with a clear identity.

Gavin Hunt frustrated over Ndah delay

Former Chiefs coach Gavin Hunt has voiced frustration over delays in securing a work permit for Olisa Ndah.

Now with Stellenbosch, Hunt revealed the defender has been unavailable for nearly a month due to administrative issues, describing the delay as disappointing given it is only a change of employer.

McCarthy praises PSL title competition

Meanwhile, Benni McCarthy has highlighted why Mamelodi Sundowns remain dominant, pointing to strong management under Patrice Motsepe and consistent recruitment.

He added that Orlando Pirates are finally closing the gap, describing their progress as a sign the PSL title race is becoming more competitive.
