Motaung reportedly to step down from Chiefs role

Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly facing another shake-up at boardroom level, with long-serving Marketing and Commercial Director Jessica Motaung said to be on her way out of her executive post, though she is expected to stay involved at board level.

According to veteran broadcaster Robert Marawa, Chiefs are reportedly set for a change in their commercial structure, with Motaung expected to step down as Marketing Director, while remaining on the Amakhosi board.

The timing has raised eyebrows given it comes only a few months after Chiefs restructured their front office.

The development follows the appointment of Bheki Shongwe as the club’s Group CEO in May 2026, which reshaped the administrative structure at Naturena, and Motaung is reportedly still connected to the club at board level, with Chiefs yet to officially confirm any change to her role.

Shongwe is not new to Naturena — he previously served as the club’s Managing Director between 2009 and 2012 before returning as a non-executive director, and his reappointment in a senior capacity has already altered the club’s day-to-day power structure.

Chiefs’ Golden Arrows trip switched to Mbombela

Kaizer Chiefs will be back on the road this weekend for their Betway Premiership clash with Lamontville Golden Arrows, with the fixture relocated from its original venue.

The club has confirmed that the seventh-round match, originally pencilled in for King Zwelithini Stadium in Umlazi, will now be played at Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit, with kick-off set for 15:00 on Sunday.

Amakhosi go into the match unbeaten in the league this season after sharing the spoils with Polokwane City last weekend, a game in which Lebohang Maboe scored his second goal of the campaign and picked up the Man of the Match award. Arrows also played out a 1-1 draw in their last outing, against Siwelele in Bloemfontein.

On the log, Chiefs sit fourth with 12 points from six matches, while Arrows are seventh with seven points from the same number of games. Tickets for the Nelspruit clash are priced at R100 and are available through Computicket, as well as in-store at Shoprite and Checkers outlets.
