It’s been a tough season too many setbacks battling with so much pains on my knee more than 7 months now, avoiding to make meniscus surgery not to miss the World Cup unfortunately things didn’t turn as planned,” he posted on his IG account.

Du Preez to leave Amakhosi?
Stellenbosch FC have made contact over the potential re-signing of Ashley Du Preez from Kaizer Chiefs ahead of the 2026/27 season.
Du Preez, 28, fell out of favour at the club last season with only 12 appearances across all competitions, with no goals and one assist.
“Stellies made contact with Chiefs with a view over luring him back to the Cape Winelands where he emerged as one of the fearsome attacking talents in the league before the move to Chiefs,” iDiski Times reported.
“While the contact has now been made – it’s been confirmed du Preez is looking towards the new coaching set-up in his final season and aiming to work his way back into contention for the upcoming season.

“However, after falling down the pecking order at the MLS club, Blom returned to Amakhosi on loan in 2024/25, much to the excitement of the club’s fans, but made only 10 starts in 19 appearances. Blom will be Stellenbosch’s second signing after the signing of Sinoxolo Kwayiba from Chippa United, who is expected to arrive in Cape Town in the coming weeks.”
