AmaZulu FC coach Arthur Zwane is still no giving up on a top three finish despite being seven points behind third-placed Kaizer Chiefs and having played a game more.

“Our target as a club has just always been position four, but we fencied our chances of going to position three and going to compete in Africa because we’re ambitious,” said Zwane as per iDiski Times.

“I still believe…football things, they happen in a mysterious way. Anything can happen at any given time. It’s all up to us. We just have to focus on ourselves and not worry about what people think of us.”

Soweto Derby pressure? Not for Ben Youssef?

Kaizer Chiefs co-coach Khalil Ben Youssef is refusing to be drawn in the pressures of the Soweto Derby, insisting Sunday’s match will be like any other even though his team has lost to Orlando Pirates in their last five meetings.

“It’s only three points. If we win, will they give us the title? Or give us six points that would change something? But for us, like I said, it’s a league game, yes, it’s a derby, who will be the first team in Soweto will be us or them, but like I said, it’s a league game,” he said on Thursday.

“Our target is clear from the first of the season; we don’t have to change our target. You win one game, you start discussing about winning PSL, you lose one game, you start to destroy everything. The target is the same, we discussed that we have to be in the group stage in CAF, we did it, unlucky in the last moments we did not qualify. It was about goal difference.”

Kaizer Chiefs defender Given Msimango has given reasons why the team has been on a great run recently, winning five straight matches, before their draw with Polokwane City last weekend.

“I think it comes down to consistency in our methods, regardless of how difficult things were,” Msimango. Said as per FARPost.

“Even when results weren’t coming, and there was negative feedback, we didn’t lose sight of who we are as players. We stayed committed, applied ourselves properly, and now it’s starting to show.”
