Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates fans who had hoped to see some of their former players roll back the years in the Soweto Derby Legends clash will have to wait a little longer.

As the season enters its final months, five Kaizer Chiefs players are not sure if they will be at Naturena in 2026/27 because they will be out of contract.
Playmaker Gaston Sirino, goalkeeper Bruce Bvuma, midfielder Nkosingiphile Ngcobo and winger Pule Mmodi are out of contract at the end of the season while striker Khanyisa Mayo’s loan deal also expires.
No talks have been held over new deals for all of them but Mayo’s agent has insisted the player would love to stay as he will not be returning to Algerian side CR Belouizdad.
