Latest news about Kaizer Chiefs, in the last 24 years, including Aden McCarthy’s contract details, Cedric Kaze’s return to Premier Soccer League and many more.

Aden signs three-year deal with European team

Aden McCarthy is poised to become the second Kaizer Chiefs product to play for Sabah FC after agreeing to join the Azerbaijan Premier League champions on a three-year deal with an option to extend.

“The 22-year-old defender is set to feature in the 2026/27 UEFA Champions League after the club met Chiefs’ asking price, validating the Soweto giants’ decision to secure his future earlier this year,” Soccer Laduma communicated.

“Chiefs had been on the verge of selling McCarthy to an unnamed European club, and that move has now materialised. His breakthrough campaign saw him make 26 appearances in all competitions this season, establishing himself as one of the more reliable young options in the squad.

“The move mirrors the contract strategy Chiefs employed with Siyabong Ngezana, who also secured a European transfer after penning a new deal with a buy-out clause,,” they concluded.

Kaze secures move to PSL team?

Former Kaizer Chiefs co-coach Cedric Kaze has emerged as a coaching option for Sekhukhune United, although AmaZulu mentor Arthur Zwane remains a leading candidate.

“Zwane has emerged as a strong contender for the position following his impressive campaign with AmaZulu FC, where he guided Usuthu to a fourth-place finish in the Betway Premiership,” Soccer Laduma reported.

“Sources have now indicated that Kaze’s name has also surfaced in discussions as Babina Noko continue exploring various options for the 2026/27 season.

“Cedric Kaze is one of the coaches who has been mentioned when discussions about the future have taken place. The club is looking at different profiles, and his name is among those being looked at.

“Arthur is still one of the main names because of what he achieved at AmaZulu, and the people at Sekhukhune know his work very well. But Cedric is also highly regarded, and the club is assessing different possibilities before making any decisions,” they added.

Chiefs intensify search for a new coach

The Glamour Boys are believed to be planning to hold their pre-season camp in the Western European country but their relations with that part of the world could go beyond pre-season.

With Chiefs’ search for a new head coach in advanced stages, preparations for pre-season are seemingly also in the closing stages of being finalized, as Motaung Jr touched down in Germany over the past weekend.

“The Glamour Boys are believed to be planning to hold their pre-season camp in the Western European country but their relations with that part of the world could go beyond pre-season after international sports consulting firm Schächter Sports confirmed the visit by the Chiefs delegation, led by Motaung Jr,” Kick Off reported.

“We are proud and honoured to welcome Kaizer Motaung Jr (Sporting Director) and Kabelo Basilong (Football Operations Manager) of Kaizer Chiefs Football Club to Germany.
