Kaizer Chiefs News Today: New signing coming! Transfer updates, & more

Latest Kaizer Chiefs news, in the last 24 hours, including Amakhosi being told to investigate back-to-back injuries, the Glamour Boys confirm big news to the fan and more.

Chiefs told to investigate injuries

A former Kaizer Chiefs striker has urged the club to investigate their injury crisis, which has severely impacted key players including Rushwin Dortley, Bradley Cross, and Langelihle Phili.

New signing Phili is the latest in the list of players on the treatment table at the Village, as he missed the league clash against Richards Bay FC and has been confirmed to be out for the next eight weeks.

Fees Moloi suggests these injuries may stem from improper conditioning, fixture congestion, or surface issues, rather than bad luck.

He believes the high number of injuries, especially among left-backs, warrants a review of Amakhosi’s injury prevention measures, as the problem risks undermining their season.

“The problem might be with the strength and conditioning and load management progression at Chiefs,” Moloi told Kick Off.

“Not even five league games have been played, but there is already an injury crisis at the club. The training intensity might have increased after off-season. It might have increased too high when the players were not yet ready.

“If that’s the case, then you will suffer injuries. It doesn’t necessarily mean the technical staff is doing a poor job, but the transition from off-season from high intensity training to competitive matches… maybe that’s where they lost it. It wasn’t managed well.

“It’s strange to have about six players in a single position not available. These injuries needs to be investigated by Kaizer Chiefs. Find out if these injuries are not from last season, were these injuries sustained during pre-season?

“We never saw some of these injuries happening during a match, so where are they coming from? How did they happen? If the club can investigate all that, then they will be able to solve this injury crisis they are faced with,” he concluded.

New signings on the way!

Kaizer Chiefs Football Manager Bobby Motaung has outlined the clear mandate given to new head coach Fernando da Cruz.

Motaung also confirmed to FARPost that Amakhosi are still open to adding more signings before the transfer window shuts to support Da Cruz’s squad.
