Maboe backs himself to deliver for Kaizer Chiefs

Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Lebohang Maboe feels he is now in prime conditions to fire Amakhosi to success having fully settled in at the club.

Moboe joined the Soweto giants last season but had fitness issues and had to wait until the 11^th game of the season to make his debut.

He has, however, kicked on since then and become a key player for the club and is now looking to deliver glory to the Glamour Boys.

“I still want to improve, I still want more. I’m looking forward to building on the performances that I had last season and the good start I’ve had this season. You know I can only get better from here, I always demand more from myself,” Maboe said at the Chiefs Village as per KickOff.

“I believe that there is always room for improvement, so going into this season, I am definitely looking to improve my stats, with more goals, more assists, more box entries, so I am looking forward to the season.”

Da Cruz names positive attribute about Chiefs

Kaizer Chiefs coach Fernando da Cruz may have been frustrated by some of the easy goals his side have conceded but there is one thing that has impressed him about his players.

Chiefs are third in the league after two wins and as many draws, with their stalemate coming after some defensive mistakes, but while he admits they are still a work in progress, the French coach is happy with how his players have taken to him.

“The work is also about the group’s ability to listen,” Da Cruz said as quoted by Sportswire.

“We can send a message to the players, but if they don’t want to hear it, it becomes complicated. At the moment, we have a group that is receptive, which makes learning easier and perhaps allows us to progress a little faster.

“Nevertheless, we have made good progress, but we are still missing things. We still have significant room for improvement, and we need to become even better in the way we play.”
