Top PSL team keen on retaining ex-Chiefs veteran defender
Sekhukhune United look set to keep hold of veteran defender Daniel Cardoso after all, despite his contract expiring and the 37-year-old leaving pre-season last week.
“An agreement has been reached for Cardoso to remain at the club for the upcoming season, with sources indicating Babina Noko have agreed terms with the centre-back on a new deal that will keep him at the club for at least another season,” iDiski Times reported.
“The extension is being seen as a reward for his service since joining Sekhukhune in 2022 after ending a seven-year stay with Kaizer Chiefs . The agreement has been reached and the club values what Cardoso brings both on and off the field, viewing it as recognition for his commitment.

“On the pitch, Cardoso remains a key figure for new coach Cedric Kaze, having made 31 appearances in all competitions during the 2025/26 campaign and continued to provide leadership at the heart of defence and in the dressing room,” they added.
Fired Mzoughi responds to explicit video allegedly involving him
Former Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper coach Ilyes Mzoughi was fired by Moroccan giants Raja Club Athletic on Saturday after an explicit video allegedly involving the Tunisian appeared online, with the Mzoughi citing he was the target of an extortion attempt.
Mzoughi had linked up with former Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi after he replaced Fadlu Davids at Raja, but was now dismissed less than two weeks later.
However, after an explicit video allegedly Mzoughi appeared online, the club immediately opted to part ways with the former Chiefs goalkeeper coach.
Mzoughi himself denies all allegations and revealed he has been blackmailed over an AI-fabricated video, sharing the following statement on the situation with iDiski Times.
“Four years ago, I was the target of an extortion attempt. Individuals threatened to publish what I maintain is a fabricated video created using Artificial Intelligence (Al) and demanded approximately USD 20,000 in exchange for not releasing it. I refused to give in to this blackmail or any form of intimidation.

“Yesterday, four years later, that video-which I maintain is fabricated using Artificial Intelligence (AI) — was published in an attempt to damage my reputation, tarnish my image, and harm my professional career.
“I categorically reject all false allegations associated with this video,” he added.
