Kaizer Chiefs head into their Carling Knockout quarter-final against Siwelele with no fresh injury concerns, giving coach Fernando da Cruz a chance to select a strong squad.

Chiefs will face Siwelele at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday from 18:00 and while Da Cruz has no new injuries, there is one forced change since defender Inacio Miguel is suspended.

Miguel was sent off in stoppage time of the Soweto Derby last weekend and in his absence, Rushwin Dortley is expected to partner Thabo Moloisane at centre-back.

Dortley’s omission from the derby drew some criticism after he performed well in the Carling Knockout Round of 16 against TS Galaxy in what was his first match since March 2025.

In Miguel’s absence, Chiefs’ lineup is expected to have;

Chiefs warned against Maswanganyi

Orlando Pirates legend Lebohang Mokoena has warned Kaizer Chiefs against attempting to sign Patrick Maswanganyi, whose future in Bahrain has come into question.

Tito, as he popularly known, has dropped down the pecking order at Bahraini club Al-Khaldiya, where his minutes have significantly reduced, and despite signing in September, he is already being linked with an exit.

However, Mokoena feels the playmaker would not be the right signing for Chiefs if he became available.

“Yes, he’s got the experience, but he’s not the Tito that played under coach Jose Riveiro,” Mokoena said on SoccerBeat as per The South African.

“For me, if Chiefs want to get a Tito, all I can say is good luck, because our opinions are different. But for me, I wouldn’t go for a player like Tito at Kaizer Chiefs, especially in the current situation and the type of player that he is.

“I think we had some issues at Orlando Pirates where we saw the other side of Tito. Even coach Mandla elaborated and said he’s a different type of human being. You need to sit down with him and try to understand him,” he added.
