Kaizer Chiefs Transfer News: Official – Bafana international signed

Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed the arrival of Bafana Bafana international goalkeeper Renaldo Leaner from Sekhukhune United.

The 28-year-old custodian comes in as a free agent after leaving Babina Noko as a free agent following the expiry of his contract at the end of the 2025/26 season. The shot-stopper has been at the club since 2023, when he was signed from Maritzburg United.

Last season, he played 18 Premier Soccer League games and managed to keep nine clean sheets. He made a total of 45 appearances for the club across all competitions, and managed to keep the ball out of the net 15 times.

Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns were also keen on his services, but it is Amakhosi who won the race. With Bvuma extending his deal, chances are high that Fiacre Ntwari might be released before the new campaign starts.

The official announcement by Chiefs

“Kaizer Chiefs have strengthened their goalkeeping department with the signing of renowned shot-stopper Renaldo Leaner,” the Soweto giants announced on Monday afternoon.

“Born in Cape Town 28 years ago, Leaner arrives at Naturena with a wealth of experience, having impressed last season and earned a number of call-ups to the Bafana Bafana national team.

“We proudly welcome Renaldo to the Khosi Nation!,” they concluded.
