Given Msimango is set for a prime opportunity to make his first league start of the season as Kaizer Chiefs grapple with a wave of injuries and suspensions that has decimated their defensive lineup.
The defender has been plagued by his own injury issues, limiting him to just nine minutes of action in the Premier Soccer League this season.
However, with a growing list of defensive absentees at Naturena, Msimango is now in a strong position to secure a starting role for the upcoming away fixture against Orbit College FC, provided he remains fit.

The Soweto giants have been unable to field a consistent centre-back pairing, having used a different combination in each of their last six matches. This trend is set to continue after the international break.
The last time Chiefs started the same central defenders in consecutive games was in the CAF Confederation Cup group stage, where Zitha Kwinika and Given Msimango featured against Al Masry and Zamalek.
Since then, a series of forced changes has seen Kwinika partner with Aden McCarthy against Stellenbosch FC. In the Soweto Derby, Inacio Miguel played alongside Kwinika, while the trip to Richards Bay FC featured a pairing of McCarthy and Bradley Cross.

Miguel and Kwinika were reunited for the match against Durban City, but the Angolan-Portuguese defender then played with McCarthy against Magesi FC.
Adding to the club’s woes, Miguel will be unavailable for the next match, serving a one-game suspension after accumulating four yellow cards.
Furthermore, Rushwin Dortley’s return date remains uncertain, and Kwinika is now dealing with fresh injury concerns, compounding the selection headache for the technical team.
