Kaizer Chiefs urged to be patient with new signing: ‘The pressure is too high’

Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Adolf Mtasingwa Bitegeko will come good for the Glamour Boys, according to ex-club defender Dominic Isaacs.

The Tanzanian international was signed from Azam FC to bolster the midfield department and bring more stability. He has, however, made just three appearances for the Fernando Da Cruz-led outfit, just a couple of minutes from the bench.

The 27-year-old was seen as a replacement for Thabo Cele, who was deemed surplus to requirements by Da Cruz. The latter was eventually signed by Mamelodi Sundowns.

Isaacs believes that once Bitegeko settles, he will have a positive impact on the team, as initially expected. He has further asked the Amakhosi faithful to give the player enough time to adjust and adapt to the Premier Soccer League.

Give him a fair chance

“Mtasingwa needs to be given a fair chance; with him, you can’t be too harsh and make decisions too soon,” Isaacs told KickOff.

“People must remember he is coming into an environment where the pressure is too high in terms of performance and winning games. It’s usually difficult for people to adjust in environments like that.

“Let’s just give the player enough time to adjust; people must give him time to adapt,” he concluded.

On Sunday, Kaizer Chiefs play Golden Arrows in the Premier Soccer League fixture to be staged at the Mbombela Stadium. Arrows won by a solitary goal a couple of weeks ago in the MTN8 quarter-final, and the Glamour Boys will be aiming to avenge the loss.
