Kaizer Chiefs have lost out on one of their targets following the signing of Kenyan striker Michael Olunga by Qatari club Al-Arabi.
Chiefs have been linked to Olunga since last year and seemed to have got a major boost when he was released by Qatari giants Al-Duail at the end of May.
However, Chiefs did not move for him even when he was available as a free agent and he has now joined another Qatari side in Al-Arabi where he has signed a two-year deal.
Olunga was unveiled on Saturday as a new Al-Arabi player and will continue to light up the Qatar Stars League after leaving Al-Duhail as a club legend following his four-and-a-half-year stint that saw him leave as their all-time top scorer with 130 goals.
Who has joined Kaizer Chiefs so far?
Chiefs have been busy in the market in a bid to strengthen the team for coach Nasreddine Nabi as they seek an improvement on their ninth-place finish of last season and also plan for their participation in the CAF Confederation Cup.

The Glamour Boys have so far confirmed the arrival of six players being Flavio Silva (Persebaya Surabaya, Indonesia), Ethan Chislett (Port Vale, England), Nkanyiso Shinga (FC Alverce, Portugal), Paseka Mako (Orlando Pirates), Thabiso Monyane (Orlando Pirates) and Siphesihle Ndlovu (SuperSport United).
Of the six, Portuguese Silva is the only striker added to the squad but it is believed that the club is looking to sign more attacking players after their forwards disappointed in 2024-25.
The poor goal return from their forwards has seen Ranga Chivaviro released by Chiefs while the future of Tashreeq Morris is in doubt, having not scored a goal since joining in January from SuperSport United.
