Kaizer Chiefs have been working hard to revamp their squad ahead of the 2025/26 Premier Soccer League campaign.
In the concluded edition, the Glamour Boys struggled in the South African top-flight football, eventually finishing ninth on the table. They will not take part in MTN8, but Amakhosi will be aiming at defending their Nedbank Cup as well as having an impact in the league and the Carling Knockout.
The Soweto giants are set to take part in the Caf Confederation Cup, explaining why they want quality players. One of the players linked to Chiefs is Flavio Silva, who has been plying trade in the Indonesia Liga 1 champions Persebaya Surabaya.
Flavio bids farewell to the former Indonesia Liga 1 champions
The Guinea-Bissau-born striker has already bid his club farewell, fuelling reports that he is on his way to Naturena.
“Thank you for this one season together, Flavio Silva. Short, but many beautiful memories that we have shared,” the club confirmed.
“The passion, dedication, and warmth that you have shown so far, we will continue to remember. Success in your new career.”
Chiefs warned against signing Flavio

However, former Bidvest Wits, Supersport United, Free State Stars, and Maritzburg United midfielder Joah Chivuta insists this might turn out to be a bad signing for Nasreddine Nabi.
“Chiefs shouldn’t be considering players from the Indonesian League, which is semi-professional and comparable to Cambodia and Laos,” Chivuta told SNL24 in his initial interview.
“Indonesia is not a top league where a club like Chiefs should be scouting for players. It is not even rated highly, even here in Asia, and no superstar ever goes there. Intensity is not high in the Indonesian League, so it will be difficult for this striker to make the cut at Chiefs.
“For him to be in that league means that his standard is not the best,” he added.
