Kaizer Chiefs are reported to have reignited their interest in Polokwane City winger Oswin Appollis with a new bid submitted.
Appollis has been the subject of interest for Chiefs since the off-season transfer window, when the Glamour Boys had a bid rejected, and recent reports have linked the player to rivals Orlando Pirates instead.
Pirates are reported to have been in negotiations with Polokwane over the transfers of Appollis and his team-mate Thabang Matuludi in this month’s window with midfielder Philip Ndlondlo believed to be the player they are willing to offer as makeweight.

However, according to FARPost, Chiefs have now come back with another offer to try and tempt Rise and Shine into selling to them the highly-rated Bafana Bafana winger.
Appollis continues to put in the shift for Polokwane amid the transfer rumours, having played 14 matches this season with one goal to his name, while he was a prominent figure for Bafana Bafana during their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, when he scored two goals and provided four assists in six games.
The speculation has, however, not gone down well with Polokwane coach Phuti Mohafe who feels it is a big distraction for him and his team.
“You know, with this issue of our players being linked with other teams, let it be their own agenda,” he said.
Can Chiefs beat Pirates to winger’s signature?
“But I think we shouldn’t be engaging with it anymore because it’s just rumours that are flying around. I would rather not comment further about this.”
Chiefs are looking for a winger to add to their attack, having struggled in wide areas, with striker Wandile Duba and midfielder Mduduzi Shabala deployed on the wings on different occasions this season.
Coach Nasreddine Nabi appears not to trust Pule Mmodi and Congolese forward Christian Saile while Tebogo Potsane has struggled with injuries.
Appollis is believed to be keen on a move to the Soweto giants but whether it is Pirates or Chiefs is something only time will tell.
