Orlando Pirates will have to pay R25 million to sign Polokwane City winger Oswin Appollis.
Pirates have moved in front of the queue for the young attacker who has been heavily linked to Kaizer Chiefs with a deal in the January transfer window reportedly imminent.
However, the Buccaneers will have to cough out a large sum to convince Polokwane to sell the player, who is also wanted by Mamelodi Sundowns.
“Pirates will need to put their money where their mouth is and pay close to R25 million in order to get this deal over the line for Oswin Appollis,” a source The South African.
Will Pirates pay the hefty fee?
“Polokwane City will be happy with this fee and would likely agree to move forward with the deal if Pirates are prepared to meet this asking price. But what we also know is that Pirates are not used to paying so much for any player.”
Reports have also claimed Pirates will sign both Appollis and his Polokwane City team-mate Thabang Matuludi, who has kept putting in impressive performances for Rise and Shine.
Both players have been instrumental in Polokwane’s great start to the season that sees them occupying third place on the PSL table and the club would not want to lose them midway through the season.
Appollis was one of the key players for Bafana Bafana as he scored two goals and provided three assists in their six 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers although he is yet to translate the good form at club level where he has one goal in 12 matches across all competitions.
