Kaizer Chiefs vs Golden Arrows: Preview, team news, time & where to watch

Published on by Willis Sob

Kaizer Chiefs host Golden Arrows on Sunday hoping to collect another Premier Soccer League win after a hard-fought victory over Stellenbosch.

It will not be easy against Golden Arrows who are aiming at collecting maximum points in their bid to surge upwards on the table.

Interestingly, a win this weekend will lift Arrows from the ninth position past the Glamour Boys who are currently placed fifth with 18 points, three less than their opponents who will have a better goal difference if they upset the Soweto giants.

Form Guide and Head-to-Head

Chiefs registered their first PSL win on Wednesday when they came from a goal down to beat Stellenbosch 2-1. It was their fifth win in the league this season from 12 outings. Three matches have ended in draws with the club failing the remaining four assignments.

Arrows are winless in the last three matches; but two have been draws with one defeat – against Richards Bay. They have four wins, as many losses and three draws so far from the 11 games played.

In the head-to-head record, Arrows have three wins from the last five PSL games, while Amakhosi have managed two.

What They Said

Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi is happy with what his team has achieved, but insists some departments are lagging behind.

“Regarding the process and where we want to go, after five months we've seen we've improved. There's a lot of improvement in some areas and we have been inconsistent in other areas,” He told the media.

“We feel there are some other areas where we are behind where we should be after five months. Everyone is working to fix what needs to be fixed and try to catch up on things we should have done better and we hope we're going to see the improvement and consistency soon.”

Team News and Starting XI

Gaston Sirino is still injured and might not be in Kaizer Chiefs' matchday squad. Bradley Cross was subbed against Stellies after just 30 minutes. We might see Thatayaone Ditlhokwe in action.
