Kaizer Chiefs warned why they should be wary of Magesi in search of fifth win in a row

Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Kenny Niemach is not convinced that Amakhosi are back to their best despite a good run that has seen them collect four consecutive victories in the Premier Soccer League.

They started with a 1-0 victory against Durban to end the four-game losing streak across all competitions. It followed with victories over Magesi FC, Orbit College and most recently TS Galaxy that ensured they go third in the log with 42 points and a massive chance to qualify for CAF Confederation Cup.

On Wednesday, they play Magesi FC at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane hoping to complete a double over them and collect a fifth win in the process.

However, ex-Amakhosi striker Niemach believes the Soweto giants are just not yet there despite the good run.

Kaizer Chiefs take a leaf from Mamelodi Sundowns

“What is there for Chiefs to win now? They can’t win the title. It will be great if they put themselves in top four, but it’s important for them to keep momentum now that they are winning,” Niemach told KickOff.

“They must take a leaf out of Sundowns – horses for courses. They must select a side that is prepared to go there and fight tomorrow since they are playing a side that is staring relegation in the eyes, a side that is in the relegation zone,” said Niemach, adding that games against sides on the bottom of the table aren’t easy.

“It’s not going to be a comfortable match, it’s going to be a battle and a bit untidy. As it is now, Magesi must be thinking about how they are going to put up their stalls. They are aware Chiefs is in good form, so they will be tight at the back this time,” he stated.

Magesi are going to test them

Dikwena Tsa Meetse are at the bottom of the table with 17 points, and a win will be massive in their bid to evade the axe. Niemach argues the Glamour Boys will disappoint you when least expected.

“This Chiefs team is not yet there, they flatter to deceive. Immediately you start saying, ‘Wow, they are playing well’, then they lose against a useless team.

“Yes, they’ve been playing well and have won four games [in a row], but now this Magesi game is going test them,” he concluded.
