Kaizer Chiefs co-coach Cedric Kaze feels his team will need to move the ball better and in the right areas in their next matches if they want to keep winning.
Chiefs arrested a run of four straight defeats with a 1-0 win over Durban City at FNB Stadium on Sunday to move to fifth spot on the Premier Soccer League table with 33 points from 19 games, just one behind third and fourth-placed Sekhukhune United and AmaZulu FC, who have played 21.
However, it was not easy breaking down a City team that had not lost their previous six matches with the KwaZulu-Natal side frustrating them with long balls into the box before Glody Lilepo’s 68th minute strike broke their resistance.

Kaze is delighted with the three points but has identified areas of weakness which he thinks the Glamour Boys must fix to have a chance of putting together a great winning run.
“I think it’s a game we controlled pretty well since the first minute, I would say just in the last five minutes we put ourselves into trouble by going back and allowing them to have a lot of throws, set-pieces but it’s three points we plainly deserved,” Kaze told SuperSport as per Soccer Laduma.
“We are going to work from that, it’s going to give everyone confidence, serenity to go to work and have a good performance in the next game.
What did not impress Chiefs coach?

“I think in the first half we had the control of the game, but I feel like we weren’t enough in spaces to go forward and we took a lot of time to move the ball side to side which give the opponents to shift, we didn’t change the gear especially when we got into the opposition half,” he added.
The Chiefs coach says it was because of the lethargic display that he brought on Asenele Velabayi in a bid to get a foothold into the game.
“We tried to correct that at halftime and that’s why bring a player like Velebayi who can give us the one-v-one running forward and those crosses as well,” he further stated.
Kaze will hope to see improvements when Chiefs host Magesi FC in their next match on March 21.
