The former SuperSport United defender scored the decisive goal for the Natal Rich Boys

Richards Bay continued from where they left off last season as they secured a 1-0 victory against TS Galaxy in their PSL opener on Sunday.

New signing Keagan Allan rose highest to head home the lone goal in the first half and Brandon Truter’s men put up an impressive defensive display to claim all three points.

It was the first victory for Richards Bay over TS Galaxy and they had to dig in for their win.

How did Richards Bay down TS Galaxy?

The hosts got a freekick in the middle of the pitch and with the ball lofted into the box, Allan rose higher than everyone else to connect well and head in the bottom right corner.

Sead Ramovic’s men had few opportunities but they did not make them count as their opponents kept their good record of not dropping points when they score first intact.

It was a great start to the season for Truter’s side who survived relegation after winning the playoff and it also extends their good record from last season.

Natal Rich Boys have kind fixtures up next

Richards Bay had been unbeaten in their last five games of the 2023-24 campaign and kept their run going with the win against Galaxy.

Truter has expressed his desire to finish in the top eight this season and has backed it up with a good start.

Richards Bay have a chance to build onto the win with matches against Chippa United and Royal AM coming up next before they meet Orlando Pirates.
