Sekhukhune United captain Linda Mntambo has praised an Orlando Pirates recently departed midfielder, anticipating a successful tenure following his time with the Buccaneers.

Ezimnyama Ngenkani parted ways with a handful of players following the end of the previous season.

This includes Thabang Monare, Kermit Erasmus, Vincent Pule, Bongani Sam, Richard Ofori, Souaibou Marou and Siyabonga Mpontshane.

Two among the aforementioned players have signed for Betway Premiership clubs with Pule moving to SuperSport United while Monare joined Sekhukhune United.

Mntambo has lauded his former teammate Monare upon their reunion, foreseeing a prosperous future for him at Babina Noko.

He is confident that the Limpopo side will greatly benefit from the expertise of the 34-year-old, who has previously played for AmaTuks, FC Aziz Kara, Jomo Cosmos, and Bidvest Wits.

“With Thabang joining us from Pirates, myself and Thabang have a strong relationship off the field. We played together at Jomo Cosmos, at Pirates and now we are here,” Mntambo explained to journalists as quoted by KickOff.

“I think Thabang is a big boy, he has been in the league for many years, and he knows what he has to bring to the table.

“The other time, my colleagues were asking me, ‘What can we expect?' and I said, ‘You can expect nothing less than a 100% from a player of Thabang's quality.

“He knows what he has to deliver, he knows his mandate and he knows what he has to do on the field. So, with that, I don't have a lot of problems with integrating him into the team, all he needs to do is get to know his teammates.

“But as for on the field, he knows what he needs to do.”

Monare made his debut on Saturday afternoon as Sekhukhune were eliminated from the MTN8 after a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Cape Town City at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.
