Morocco, by contrast, arrive unbeaten and yet to concede a goal at this WAFCON, a defensive record built under Jorge Vilda that has restricted opponents to just a handful of shots across the group stage.

South Africa hold the psychological upper hand from history, having beaten the Atlas Lionesses 2-1 in that 2022 final on this same ground courtesy of a Hildah Magaia double, and Banyana will lean heavily again on Magaia and Thembi Kgatlana, both carrying two goals into this tie.

Morocco’s own talisman, Ibtissam Jraidi, arrives with an identical goal tally and will look to give the hosts the platform to finally avenge that final-day heartbreak in front of their own supporters.
