Kick-off in Soweto is set for this Saturday, and we will bring you every key moment as it happens.

Pirates carry a goalless draw from the first leg into the return fixture, a result that leaves the tie finely balanced despite Abdeslam Ouaddou’s side dominating territory and chances in Port Louis.

The Buccaneers sit second in the Betway Premiership, unbeaten across all competitions this season and fresh off a 4-0 thrashing of Kruger United, but top scorer Gamphani Lungu remains a serious doubt after being stretchered off with a leg injury in that game, with Yanela Mbuthuma’s five goals this season making him the likely focal point in attack.

La Cure Waves, making history as first-time CAF Champions League entrants, produced a disciplined defensive display to frustrate Pirates for ninety minutes in the first leg, despite squad members reportedly balancing football with jobs paying as little as R5,000 a month.

Head coach Jerome Thomas has been candid about the gulf in resources, admitting his side are “not at the same level” as their hosts, but the away goal they banked means anything short of an emphatic home win keeps the tie alive.

There is no prior head-to-head between the clubs beyond this season’s tie, with Pirates chasing a return to the group stage after back-to-back preliminary and knockout exits in recent campaigns, and La Cure Waves playing their first-ever competitive match against South African opposition just five days ago.

Stay with us for team news, build-up and live updates as Ouaddou and Thomas’s sides look to settle the tie in Soweto.
