Magesi FC vs Kaizer Chiefs clash postponed

Published on by

The highly anticipated DStv Premiership fixture between Magesi FC and Kaizer Chiefs, originally scheduled for 26 November at Seshego Stadium, has been postponed to a date yet to be confirmed.

The decision comes just days before Chiefs’ continental assignment in the CAF Confederation Cup, where they face Egyptian side Al Masry.

The match in North Africa was set for three days prior to the league encounter, and travel logistics appear to have played a major role in the postponement.

Moving between North Africa and South Africa within such a tight window can be a logistical nightmare, especially when factoring in recovery and preparation time.

The postponement means Kaizer Chiefs’ next league fixture will now be an away clash against Chippa United, adding an extra layer of complexity to their congested schedule as they juggle domestic and continental commitments.

Both clubs and the Premier Soccer League are expected to announce a new date for the Seshego showdown in due course.

Kaizer Chiefs are in a highly challenging Group D of the CAF Confederation Cup, alongside Egyptian powerhouses Zamalek SC, Al Masry SC, and Zambian outfit Zesco United.

Their continental journey is set to kick off with an away trip to Al Masry on 23 November, followed by a home game against Zamalek on 30 November.
