Magesi vs Kaizer Chiefs: Preview, line-up & where to watch

Published on by

Kaizer Chiefs hope to bounce back from SuperSport United's loss in the Premier League with victory on Wednesday away against Magesi FC at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.

However, they will not find it easy against the newbies who recently pulled a shocker after eliminating Orlando Pirates from the Carling Knockout.

Either side is desperate for a win which makes the fixture even more interesting.

Head-to-head

Magesi are making their debut in the Premier Soccer League after winning the second tier in the 2022/23 season.

They have not been paired with Amakhosi in any domestic competition meaning it will be the first time they are meeting.

Form Guide

Magesi have played five Premier Soccer League games and managed to get a single win, two draws, and as many losses. Nevertheless, they are in the quarter-final of the Nedbank Cup after a surprising win over Bucs.

The Glamour Boys have two victories and as many defeats in the four league matches they have played. Just like their Wednesday opponents, Amakhosi are in the Carling Knockout quarter-final after eliminating SuperSport United.

Team News and Probable XI

Magesi have no injury concerns after their recent matches but Tshepo Kakora is two bookable offences away from suspension.

Coach Nasreddine Nabi will have to do without the services of dependable defender Inacio Miguel who has collected four yellow cards. Edson Castillo is out until next year owing to an injury.

Magesi Probable XI: Chipezeze, Mzava, L. Mokone, J. Mokone, Mashigo, Mekoa, Darpoh, Kakora, Chirambadare, Makhubu, Abrahams

Chiefs Probable XI: Ntwari, Msimango, Frosler, Cross, Dortley, Maart, Sirino, Shabalala, Zwane, Duba, Chivaviro

Where to watch Magesi vs Chiefs

The match will be played from 19.30 and will be broadcast live on SuperSport PSL's channel 202.

Prediction

It will be a tough outing for Magesi who are motivated after beating Pirates in the Carling Knockout, but hungry Chiefs will not let them win.

Magesi 1-3 Chiefs
