Mamelodi Sundowns are believed to have made a decision on the future of their captain Themba Zwane, according to Soccer Laduma.
Approaching the expiry of his contract, which had been extended at the start of the season, the 35-year-old faced uncertainty.
Adding to his challenges, ‘Mshishi' has been plagued by a long-term Achilles injury sustained in an AFCON qualifier against Congo Brazzaville, causing him to miss most of the current season.
Crucially, club coach Miguel Cardoso is reported to have been a key figure in ensuring Zwane received a contract renewal.
The new deal is said to be a one-year contract, including an option for the club to extend it by another year.

ZWANE PENS NEW CONTRACT?
“The new deal is as good as done and the coach has played an important part in that,” said Soccer Laduma’s source.
“As a way of honouring him, the club has given him a one-year contract offer plus a one-year option as they want him to be part of the FIFA Club World Cup in June and that's when his contract was supposed to expire.
“They believe it's a good move as he has dedicated his life to the club for a long time and the new deal is more of a reward for his dedication and commitment to the club.”
