Mamelodi Sundowns are not just celebrating winning trophies but they are also coming with a big pay cheque for the Brazilians.

Sundowns have so far won three trophies in 2026, starting with CAF Champions League, which saw them earn R99 million in June.

In September, Sundowns beat Saudi giants Al Ahli to lift the African-Asian-Pacific Cup to collect an extra R33 million in prize money, taking their total from the three competitions to R132 million.

Sundowns added an extra R10 million to their bank account following their MTN8 final win over Orlando Pirates on Saturday for a total of R142 million from the three competitions.

With the CAF Super Cup, FIFA intercontinental Cup and Carling Knockout still to come this year, Sundowns are in line to make more before they focus on 2027 where the Nedbank Cup, Betway Premiership and CAF Champions League medals will be at stake.

Mokoena targets six more trophies

Meanwhile, Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Teboho Mokoena is eyeing up to six more trophies this season after bagging two.

With the African-Asian-Pacific Cup and MTN8 in the bag, Mokoena says the ambition within the club is to sweep all the trophies they are fighting for this season.

Sundowns are in multiple competitions this season with the CAF Super Cup, FIFA intercontinental Cup and Carling Knockout still to come this year while the Nedbank Cup, Betway Premiership and CAF Champions League will be decided in 2027.

“As a team this season our target is plus five trophies, or else it’s going to be a failure,” Mokoena said as quoted by GOAL. “Two out of two, six to go, or five to go, I’m not sure but yeah.”
