If we play like we did vs Panama… – Jali sounds warning
Former Bafana Bafana midfielder Andile Jali has issued a warning to the senior national team saying some things need to change if they are going to be competitive at the upcoming FIFA World Cup.
“No, but for me, from what I saw in this past FIFA week, I must tell you I watched three of those teams,” Jali told iDiski Times.

“And the way they were playing I don’t think – if we’re going to play the way we played against Panama in those two games – I don’t think we are going to make it. Unless we change our mindset and put in more effort than what we did against Panama.”
“Yeah, they looked to me to be much stronger than us.”
Beaumelle confident of beating Sundowns
Esperance Sportive de Tunis head coach Patrice Beaumelle says the scoreline of the CAF Champions League semi-final first leg doesn’t reflect the match, and remains confident his side can get the job done in Pretoria.
“I am very disappointed, not just by the defeat, but especially because the scoreline doesn’t reflect the match,” he said as per Pan-Africa Football.
“We were more aggressive, more committed, and we managed to create several clear chances. “Nothing is decided at this stage: no team has qualified or been eliminated. The decision will be made in the second leg, where we absolutely must be more efficient and more clinical,” he added.

“Unlike our match in Cairo, where we showed two different sides, our performance was consistent and generally good throughout the game. We even scored a goal that was disallowed, and I regret that the review took so long, as it disrupted our momentum at a crucial moment.
“I remain fully confident in my players’ ability to react and secure qualification in Pretoria,” he concluded.
Red alert for Sundowns
Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper Denis Onyango has invoked Esperance’s upset of Al Ahly as a red alert for the Brazilians ahead of hosting the Tunisian giants in a Caf Champions League tie on Saturday.
“It’s not yet over. It’s like half-time right now,” said Onyango.
“We are in the lead, but we can’t take them for granted because we saw they won away in Egypt against Al Ahly.
“We know they are a fighting team. But we also have the quality to cut them and get more goals. We have good players, quick players and the quality.”
