Mokwena’s staff at Pyramids
South Africans Wendell Robinson and Sinethemba Badela are part of Rulani Mokwena’s new technical setup at Pyramids FC.
Robinson was with Mokwena at MC Alger and Al Ittihad as the goalkeeper coach, while Badela worked with Mokwena at Wydad Casablanca and Al-Ittihad.
Mokwena has some big shoes to fill at Pyramids after replacing Jurcic, who guided Pyramids to the CAF Champions League, the CAF Super Cup and the FIFA African-Asian-Pacific Cup.

Pyramids also finished second in the Egyptian Premier League last season and will be competing in the Champions League once again.
February decision made
Mamelodi Sundowns have reportedly turned down an approach to send goalkeeper Jody February out on loan, with the club opting to retain the shot-stopper despite fierce competition for places in the goalkeeping department, according to Soccer Laduma.
Several Betway Premiership clubs, including Sekhukhune United, were interested in securing February’s services on loan ahead of the new season.
However, Sundowns are understood to have rejected those advances, with the former Ajax Cape Town goalkeeper instead set to travel with the squad to Austria for the club’s pre-season training camp.
The decision comes despite February facing an uphill battle for regular game time at Chloorkop.
The recent return of Ricardo Goss from his loan spell has further strengthened Sundowns’ goalkeeping ranks. Masandawana also turned down interest in the former Siwelele goalkeeper.

As things stand, Ronwen Williams remains the club’s first-choice goalkeeper, while veteran Denis Onyango, Reyaad Pieterse and Uganda international Ismail Watenga are all ahead of February in the current pecking order.
Mngqithi opens up on facing Steve Barker
Young Africans SC coach Manqoba Mngqithi has opened up about the prospect of facing fellow SA coach Steve Barker for Simba SC in the Kariakoo Derby.
“For me, it’s an opportunity that one would always wish to grab with both hands and see how far it can take you. So, I’m excited,” Mngqithi told iDiski Times.
“They’ve been really pushing to get me for the longest time. I think this time around, it was just the right time for that opportunity to happen.
“It was very easy because this time around I was not engaged with anyone. So, I felt, let me give this one a go because it’s a club that has got everything that it takes to compete at the highest level.

“Also, for me, what was the most fascinating was that I found them to be very good human beings. That’s why I decided to give them a chance and let me push. Let me give it a go and see how far I can take it.”
“You are a hundred percent right. It is an exciting prospect. And I do get why it is something people will look forward to keenly,” he concluded.
