Mamelodi Sundowns have provided a positive injury update on talented attackers Nuno Santos and Peter Shalulile after the duo missed recent action, while also confirming a fresh blow.

The club’s medical department, headed by Dr Carl Kgabo Tabane, confirmed that Shalulile and Santos are back to full training, itching closer to returning to the matchday squad. Meanwhile, the doctor also revealed a fresh blow with the Bathusi Aubaas injury setback

“I think in the last update, I had a few players in the ward, but the number is coming down. We’ve got Nuno Santos, who’s out of the ward, and he’s training fully. We have Peter Shalulile, who is also training fully,” said Tabane.

“But unfortunately, when some are going out, some are coming in. We have Bathusi Aubaas, who suffered an injury just after the Esperance match. We’re still going to do some investigation to get the extent of the injury, then we’ll give an update.”

Sundowns want ‘statement performance’ vs Richards Bay

Mamelodi Sundowns forward Arthur Sales has called on his teammates to put on a statement performance for their supporters when the Brazilians host Richards Bay in a sold-out Umhlathuze Sports Complex on Sunday.

“I think it’s going to be tough game against Richards Bay to play that side, but we have to show something to our fans, we feel like we need to give a big performance and an answer to our fans,” he said.

“It’s nice to play in the full stadiums, it’s sold out because everyone believes in us, that’s why our fans are coming to the stadium, we need this one, this support, it’s a good answer from our fans, to us, to show belief.

AS FAR Rabat ready for Sundowns

AS FAR Rabat have outlined its travel logistics ahead of the first leg of the CAF Champions League final against Mamelodi Sundowns.

According to Moroccan outlet Al Ayam, AS FAR Rabat’s management has started early preparations to avoid any logistical surprises ahead of the first leg.

The club will reportedly send a delegation of team officials to Tshwane to oversee the organisation and logistical arrangements.

The team’s primary objective will be to ensure they find a suitable hotel for player comfort that gives the team the best conditions possible for the players.

Additionally, the team will also inspect the training facilities and the stadium, with the game set to take place at Loftus Versfeld, and are set to prepare a detailed report for head coach Alexandre Santos.
