Ex-Sundowns coach warned about new adventure

Sekhukhune United coach Cedric Kaze has offered crucial advice to newly-appointed Young Africans SC head coach Manqoba Mngqithi, warning him about the unforgiving nature of Tanzanian football.

Kaze understands the environment better than most. The Burundian tactician previously served as head coach at Yanga before working as an assistant under Nasreddine Nabi, a period during which the club clinched back-to-back league titles and reached the CAF Confederation Cup final.

Kaze, who also coached Kaizer Chiefs highlighted what awaits Mngqithi as he steps into one of the most demanding technical seats in East African football.

“I think coach Manqoba is an experienced tactician who has had great success here in South Africa,” Kaze said as quoted by FARPost.

“He has a clear reputation for playing attractive, offensive football. The only thing I would advise him is to get results on his side as quickly as possible, because patience is not the biggest virtue in Tanzanian football.”

Mbule to face similar test to ex-team Sundowns

Sipho Mbule will face a similar test to his former side Mamelodi Sundowns, as his current club Zakho SC are now scheduled to play Saudi giants Al Hilal.

Mbule made his unofficial debut for Zakho SC on Sunday in a pre-season friendly against Turkish side Antalyaspor. Mbule started the match, but his side succumbed to a 3-0 defeat.

With one fixture now out of the way, more pre-season matches are set to follow for the Iraqi side. According to Alrabiaa Sport, Mbule’s side will face Saudi Pro League giants Al Hilal on 5 August.

Interestingly, Al Hilal recently played against Mbule’s former side Sundowns in Austria and claimed a 2-0 win thanks to a brace from Malcom.
