Cardoso on postponement of PSL outing

Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Miguel Cardoso has shared insight in the postponement of their opening match against Marumo Gallants while thanking the league and Gallants for allowing for the rearrangement.

“And it’s also our obligation, obviously, to honour him throughout all the tournaments, we are pretty happy about the game being almost there.

Why Ndlovu snubbed Pirates

New Mamelodi Sundowns attacker Siyanda Ndlovu has revealed why he decided to move to Chloorkop.

Ndlovu, 22, completed his transfer to the two-time African champions in this transfer window following an impressive season with Golden Arrows.

“Mamelodi Sundowns competes for a lot of trophies,” Ndlovu told the Pitchside Podcast.

“It’s very competitive side even in the league. So even I as a player have had a wish that if I get to Sundowns I’ll compete for these cups and grow in my game. My message to the fans is that I’ll do my best to fight for the team, to fight for the badge.

Ribeiro not moving to Esperance?

With reports suggesting that Lucas Ribeiro Costa’s proposed move to Esperance de Tunis has collapsed, a Tunisian analyst has remarked that the Brazilian star would have benefited the Tunisian league.

Various sources have indicated that some have called for reforms to ensure the domestic league becomes more competitive.

Esperance have won eight of the last 10 Tunisian Ligue 1 titles, although they missed out on the championship last season to Club Africain.

Recently, Esperance appeared close to signing former Mamelodi Sundowns star Ribeiro, but reports have emerged that the deal may not go ahead as planned, despite the player having recently been spotted at an airport in Tunis.

Speaking amid the growing uncertainty surrounding the transfer, Tunisian commentator and analyst Marwan Qara suggested that Ribeiro would have raised the standard of football in the country.

Elsewhere, Tunisian radio station Diwan FM is now reporting that the move will no longer happen after the parties failed to reach an agreement on financial terms.
