Mamelodi Sundowns coach Manqoba Mngqithi has offered an advice to Kaizer Chiefs following their encounter in the Betway Premiership over the weekend.

The Brazilians triumphed over Amakhosi with a score of 2-1 in front of a sold out crowd at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg.

Sundowns continued their perfect winning streak this season, while this marked the first loss for the Glamour Boys, who had previously secured victories in their opening two matches.

Mngqithi praised the revitalised Amakhosi, noting their improvement under the new leadership of Nasreddine Nabi.

However, he advised them that, as a big team, they must improve on dominating matches instead of relying on counter-attacks.

MANQOBA MNGQITHI WHAT CHIEFS SHOULD DO NEXT

“But the truth is, it's refreshing to see a Kaizer Chiefs team that plays like this,” he told the media.

“They must look to try and try to dominate matches more because we cannot as big teams always rely on good rest-attack and counter-attacks. We must also try to really put our foot forward.

“But I'm very happy with the progress the coach has made in such a short space of time.”

Meanwhile, Sundowns goalkeeper Ronwen Williams also expressed his excitement about the new energised Chiefs.

He believes that the Soweto giants will make the league more competitive and help them elevate their level to become even better.

“It’s two giants of African football, that’s what you gonna get, quality football, battles, fights, goals, saves and good intensity,” said Williams.

“This was one of the best games this season so far. The intensity was good from both teams.

“I’m glad to see Kaizer Chiefs being like this again, so they can give us more competition to make the league more tougher and push us to be even better.”
