Orlando Pirates midfield sensation Thapelo Mokobodi has opened up about his seamless transition to the Soweto giants following a commanding performance against Marumo Gallants.

“Coming here, I knew I would play my style of football,” Mokobodi told KickOff. “I know how comfortable I am on the ball, and my teammates made it easy, and the coach helped me as well because the type of football he likes is the type of football I’m good at.”

The victory over Gallants highlighted Mokobodi’s increasing command in the engine room, where he set the pace for the entire match. Goals from Kabelo Kgositsile and Nkosinathi Sibisi secured the 2-0 win, with the midfielder providing the solid foundation for the Buccaneers’ attack.

“So it was not difficult for me to fit into the team,” the midfielder added. “The coach warned us that it would be a difficult game and he told us that it would never be easy. So we came here very prepared for the game, and we knew where to hurt them.”

Despite Marumo Gallants’ position at the bottom of the Betway Premiership table, the Pirates’ management cautioned the team against any complacency.
