Orlando Pirates winger Relebohile Mofokeng has been heavily linked with an exit from the club.

The 21-year-old has been consistent since his promotion late in the 2022/23 season when the team was under Jose Riveiro.

Mofokeng has attracted interest from English teams, Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Africa and Spain. The latest team that has shown interest is MC Alger that is coached by Rulani Mokwena. However, Mofokeng wants to go to Europe.

Yes, I want Mofokeng!

In his recent interview with the media, Mokwena conceded he is interested in the winger.

“I know the fans want Mofokeng, I know this, and believe me, I want Mofokeng. He is a South African, the player that I also speak to about certain things in South African football, but it is not a culture that’s just from a financial perspective,” he stated.

“Because I can tell you that the player has had many, many offers and has set his sight on going to Europe.

“So, I can talk about it, as just an example that the club is ambitious, the club has exploited that possibility, but the player has no ambitions to play in Africa. It’s not the lack of ambition from the president,” Mokwena concluded.

This comes a couple of days after the 21-year-old conceded he is ready for a new challenge.

“I think if something can be available for me, I can get the chance somewhere in another country. I think it will be a very good move,” he stated.

“This [AFCON] tournament is very important [in that aspect]. When I get a chance, I’ll just have to grab it,” Mofokeng concluded.

Bafana Bafana were eliminated by Cameroon in the Round of 16 after falling 2-1.
