Orlando Pirates returned to winning ways following a 1-0 win over Polokwane City in the PSL on Wednesday.
Pirates had lost 3-0 to St Eloi Lupopo in the CAF Champions League on Sunday and needed to bounce back ahead of the return leg match this weekend
Thebang Moremi scored the only goal of the match after just six minutes having capitalized on a goalkeeping mistake from Brian Bwire.
Polokwane’s Kenyan goalkeeper Bwire spilled the ball from Kamogelo Sebelebele’s cross and Moremi was just there to sweep home the rebound to give Pirates the lead.
Moremi has been in fine form
It was the sixth goal for the forward, who joined Pirates from AmaZulu FC ahead of this season, with the win seeing the Buccaneers move to within three points of PSL leaders Mamelodi Sundowns on 18 points from eight games.

Abdeslam Ouaddou’s team still have two matches in hand over Sundowns, who they play next week, and while they had a shocking result in the Champions League, they have been untouchable in the league.
The win over Polokwane was Pirates’ seventh PSL victory in a row and they can now turn their attention to their second leg against Lupopo on Sunday.
