Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Thembinkosi Biyela believes Amakhosi made a mistake by bringing on board Ranga Chivaviro and Tashreeq Morris in their bid to solve their goal-scoring problem.
Since joining Amakhosi from SuperSport United in the January Transfer Window, Morris has not found the back of the net. Chivaviro scored 17 goals in 30 matches in his final season with Marumo Gallants, but has since scored just nine for Chiefs in 45 games.
According to Biyela, it is not every player who has the mental strength to play for the Soweto giants.
Morris not played to his strengths

“He has consistently struggled to find the target. His signing was a mistake, it should not have happened,” he said as quoted by SNL24.
“His track record isn't impressive and he was signed mainly because of the goal he scored for SuperSport United [against Chiefs] in the first half of the season.
“I also feel that Chiefs are not using Morris according to his strengths. He is a target man, but Chiefs expect him to play as a mobile striker. The team does not provide enough crosses into the box, which does not suit his playing style. This is why he is facing challenges.”
Release Chivaviro

Biyela is expecting Chivaviro to be released in the next couple of weeks owing to his struggles. The bulky forward's contract will expire at the end of June after his two years with the Glamour Boys.
“They need to find someone better than him. Chivaviro has also underperformed. Chiefs consistently seeks out quality players, and there are those who can play at Chiefs, as well as those who cannot.
“Kaizer Chiefs is a big team, and not everyone is capable of playing there. The struggles of both strikers highlight this reality,” he concluded.
