Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi is delighted with the impact youngster Mduduzi Shabalala has had on the team.
On Sunday, the 20-year-old attacker put up a man-of-the-match performance, scoring the lone goal as the Glamour Boys claimed a 1-0 win over Chippa United at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.
The strike was his fourth in the ongoing campaign with two further assists across all competitions. After the win on Sunday, the Tunisian has lauded Shabalala for his impact for the Soweto giants this season.
Shabalala is good but still young
“Most of the time I don’t want to speak about one particular player because I believe in the team spirit and collective mindset,” the former AS FAR Rabat opened up to the media.
“Shabalala has been good, not consistent but as well we feel that he carries a lot of responsibility on his shoulders for such a big team like Kaizer Chiefs, and that sometimes puts a lot of pressure on him that’s why sometimes he’s good, sometimes very good but he is still young.
“But as well we want to congratulate him because he has to be at a consistent level and we feel even other youngsters should take an example on him,” Nabi concluded.
The win on Sunday was Amakhosi's fourth in the Premier Soccer League from 10 outings. They have further registered three draws and as many losses. The next game will be on January 5 against Cape Town City, hoping to get another vital win.
