Kaizer Chiefs have been struggling to convert the many chances they create in the Premier Soccer League.

Ranga Chivaviro, Ashley du Preez and Christian Saile have been tried by coach Nasreddine Nabi. However, the trio has not impressed the tactician, explaining why the Tunisian stated the Glamour Boys will be in the market for an established striker.

Several names have been linked with the Soweto giants who are desperate to end their trophy drought that has lasted nine seasons.

Nabi challenged to go for Pyramids striker

One of the players linked to Amakhosi is Congolese Fiston Mayele who plays for Pyramids FC of Egypt. Mayele worked together with Nabi at Young Africans SC, and ex-Chiefs defender Mokete Tsotetsi believes the Democratic Republic of Congo player is the solution for his former team.

“We have good strikers that's not a doubt but we need a striker like Mayele who can win us those tough games where we create chances but we can't convert. He has proved it where ever he has played. He did well in Tanzania for Yanga and now he is doing well for Pyramids in Egypt. We need a striker like him. It could be very good if the club can sign him in January,” he told SNL24.

“The coach and the assistant coach [Cedric Kaze] know him very well and that could bring in that understanding between the coach and the player which would in turn help the team. So I think that's why also the coach has been wanting to sign him. And even me I believe that if we can sign Mayele we can win more games than we have done so far.”
