Nabi urged to sign 63-goal striker who is a free agent! ‘He will fit in Chiefs’ game’

Kaizer Chiefs have been struggling to get a prolific striker to take the many chances created in the danger zone.

Christian Saile, who joined SuperSport United in the January transfer window, Ranga Chivaviro, Ashley du Preez and mid-season signing Tashreeq Morris. Reports from Naturena indicate Chivaviro is not part of coach Nasreddine Nabi's plans for next season after managing just nine goals and an assist since joining the Glamour Boys from Marumo Gallants in July 2023.

It is highly unlikely that Nabi will get his target Fiston Mayele who is a key player at Pyramids FC in the Egyptian Premier League.

Chiefs legend Siyabonga Nomvethe believes ex-Golden Arrows striker Knox Mutizwa can provide a solution to Amakhosi's striking problems. The 31-year-old Zimbabwean is currently a free agent after being released by Abafana Bes'thende following a reported fallout with coach Manqoba Mngqithi.

He has scored 63 goals, a club record, in  231 games played for Arrows.

Mutizwa will fit in Chiefs' game – Nomvethe

“Mutizwa is a good striker and a perfect match for Kaizer Chiefs. You can see how Golden Arrows have struggled in his absence; I wouldn’t mind if Chiefs signed him.  Mutizwa is a quality striker who knows how to score. Chiefs should sign him now. At 31, he should be at the peak of his career, and his experience could greatly benefit Kaizer Chiefs,” Nomvethe told KickOff.

“You can have young players, but in certain situations, a lack of experience can hinder the conversion of scoring opportunities. As a Chiefs player, you need to work hard because it's a big club. Playing for Chiefs is not a vacation; you have to perform well. Scoring goals is the only way to keep Kaizer Chiefs supporters happy.

“Mutizwa's awareness inside the box can help Kaizer Chiefs immensely. He is clinical, he understands the game, and when he wants to score, he often does. He is a talented striker who isn’t greedy and can capitalize on even the smallest chances to find the net,” he concluded.
