Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi might still have a future at the club after all following reports that he will be on the team’s pre-season tour of Europe.
Nabi’s position has been the subject of speculation with reports claiming Chiefs could sack him following his team’s poor finish in the PSL that saw them end up ninth and miss out of the top eight for a second season in a row.
However, it appears his position is not under threat as he is reportedly working closely with the club hierarchy on new signings that will improve his squad and will be part of their pre-season camp in Europe in July.
Does Nabi have a future at Chiefs?

“For now, we know that the coach will be joining the team on the pre-season tour and camp. Yes, to a certain extent we say his future is not yet clear but for the pre-season training I am certain he will apparently be joining them,” a source told Soccer Laduma.
“He has suggested some players who he would like to sign and he has to be there to see that happen. That's where things are believed to be right now.”
Chiefs will start pre-season early with the players given four weeks off before reporting to camp at the end of June and Nabi will put them through their paces for an extended period before the start of the 2025-26 campaign.
Veteran coach wants strong backing

“They are looking at having six weeks pre-season before their first game of the season. But because the team is not in the MTN8, then they may have more weeks on top of the six they have programmed for pre-season. Everything is already planned,” said another source.
While they missed out on the top eight, Chiefs will be in the CAF Confederation Cup after winning the Nedbank Cup that ended their 10-year wait for a trophy.
With than in mind, Nabi is believed to have asked for a strong backing in the transfer market to shore up his squad as he knows no excuses will be tolerated next season.
