On his Buccaneers debut, goalkeeper Siyabonga Dladla kept a clean sheet, earning special praise from Orlando Pirates interim coach Mandla Ncikazi.
The Buccaneers secured a 1-0 victory over SuperSport United on Tuesday evening, marking their return to winning form in the Betway Premiership.
Mohau Nkota’s lone strike was enough to hand Ezimnyama Ngenkani maximum points away from home.
Known for their audacity to throw in young players against big fishes, Pirates did that again on Tuesday, giving Dladla his debut as he replaced Sipho Chaine.
Coincidentally, his birthday, turning 24, was on Monday before the matchday. Ncikazi said Dladla seemed like he had been with the side for a long time.

NCIKAZI PROUD OF SIYABONGA DLADLA
“These human beings are amazing, no complains. They dig in every day; they are there every day no complains and one can only be proud that this group of players are willing to put their names in the history of the club and I’m just happy for the young boys that are getting the opportunity,” said Ncikazi.
“They are using it correctly, another one today – the goalkeeper. I thought Siya, you couldn’t tell that it was a young boy in the sticks. Proud for the history of this club.
“Hey, pre-destination, it’s amazing. Yesterday, we didn’t know it was his birthday, maybe on my side and for us to make it a selection.
“It was not planned, it just happened. Happy birthday to him with three points.”
The Sea Robbers are next in action against AmaZulu FC in the league clash that will take place on Saturday, 24 May at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.
