Kaizer Chiefs are set to host Chippa United in the Nedbank Cup Round of 16 game on Saturday at the FNB Stadium.
It is obvious the Glamour Boys come into the match as favourites owing to the home-ground advantage and their profile. This is the second time the two teams are meeting this season; the initial fixture was in the Premier Soccer League at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.
However, the Chilli Boys' coach Thabo September is convinced his team can cause an upset this weekend by eliminating the trophy-hungry Amakhosi from the competition.
‘It is a great opportunity for Chippa players'
Prior to the Saturday fixture, Chippa United have been inconsistent in the league; in the last three games, they have managed two losses and a win. The Glamour Boys have a win, a draw, and a loss from their last three meetings.
“It's a cup game and it's a once-off match, so you need to approach it with the right mentality to make sure that you play well. Give your all in that 90 minutes and make sure we capitalise on the opportunities that we create,” September said in the pre-match interview.
“We also have to be stubborn and selfish in terms of conceding goals, so we have a good plan on what we need to do. Playing against a big team like Chiefs is a great opportunity for these players to showcase their talent.”
‘Players will play to their strengths'

The tactician has further stated his players are in good shape ahead of the tough assignment. The team looks good except Sirgio [Kammies], who is suspended,” September continued.
“The rest of the team looks good. So, we have a good pool that we can select from against Chiefs and we just need to go out there and show the good talent that we have.
“Express ourselves well and besides the tactics, we need to come out of a shell and play our football and make sure we do the things that we need to do right and players playing on their strengths.”
Chiefs beat Free Agents to advance while Chippa beat Golden Arrows to get their Round of 16 ticket.
